As an (almost) every-genre music and concert enthusiast, I thought I’d post some pieces that I’d wear to this spring/summer’s hottest music festivals. From this past and next weekend’s Coachella in Indio, California to Bonaroo in Tennessee (June 7-10) to Lollapalooza in Chicago (August 3-5), music events and festivals are fantastic opportunities to not only explore new artists and musicians, but also funky fashion!
I think it’s interesting that in today’s music festivals, especially electronic music festivals such as Ultra in Miami or Electric Zoo in New York, the fashion is reminiscent of that of festival goers in the 1960s and 1970s– Woodstock and the Hippie counterculture. Bohemian fabrics mixed with florals and funky textured tops paired with denim are popular among today’s festival attendees. Flowing dresses are great for summer festivals for comfort and keeping cool while outside for hours.
Here are a few picks from Chloe Chic that you could sport at a festival this spring/summer:
The Catch Me top
The Country Breeze top
Both of these long, flowing, textured/patterened tops would be perfect for a festival when paired with some cut-off denim shorts. The Catch Me top in particular is very bohemian and hippie-esque. The Country Breeze top offers the floral festival look.
The Wild Child vest
The Wild Child vest could also be paired with high-waist denim jean shorts or cut-offs and a fitted crop top or bandeau bra for the ultimate funky festival look!
The Victorian Vixen skirt
This year, maxi dresses and maxi skirts, such as the Victorian Vixen skirt, have been popular at music festivals. Wear this skirt high on the waist and pair with either a fitted or loose and flowing cropped top for a hippie festival look.
The Flirty Fields dress
For a simple one-piece festival outfit, a sweet and floral printed dress such as the Flirty Fields dress is a perfect choice. Pair with a fedora or a straw floppy hat and either sandals or boots, depending on the weather and terrain.
So while I haven’t bought tickets to any festivals yet (and I’m super jealous of everyone who just went to or is heading to Coachella this week), I am hoping to go to at least one summer concert this year!!! And when and if I do, I will be sure to check out the fashion!!
